These beautiful bronze bookends are heirloom Lyon of Lucerne, Switzerland Circa 1920's.
Cast iron and heavy, (8 pounds a piece!) they are in fantastic condition.

It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris.
